Make a Lovehearts brooch
Designed for Valentine's Day, but a great gift anytime of year. Shun the stores and make some handmade creations instead...and who can resist a Loveheart...with a crafty message? Ok...any message. Make these as personal as you like and remember making for yourself is just as satisfying as making presents. Happy Crafternooning!
YOU WILL NEED:
Needle & thread
Embroidery floss and wide eye needle
Draw around the roll of sellotape to create two circles and cut them out.
On one of the circles, draw a heart shape and your message into the felt using the pencil, we've gone over ours in a marker pen so it shows up. It's not always easy drawing an even heart shape so if you want perfection create a template on card to draw around first.
Thread up the floss and stitch over the heart and letters. You don't need to be a good sewer to do this. Just go over the lines we used a running stitch on the heart with big gaps and closer backstitch on the letters so there are no gaps.
On the second circle stitch a brooch back on the back and then join both circles together with a small stitch using ordinary cotton thread.
